Solidarity of Art (anational and transcultural)

Solidarity of Art (SoA) is a an artistic collaboration between Susanna Schoenberg and Ivana Sidjimovska regarding the idea of art solidarity. Their urgency for a solidarity issue relates to their sensitivities for forms and practices of transculturality, based on some kind of a-nationality. Asking themselves how to articulate solidarity as a subject, a value, a possibility, a fact related to artistic practice, six female artists: Tatiana Efrussi, Rosa Jijon, Adriana Monti, Ursula Rogg, Ana Sladojevic, Roshanak Zangeneh, and Joanna Zylinska, have been invited to explore this topic together with the them. As a result SoA: edited a glossary of solidarity, published so far as a numbered edition of 100 folded sheets with the title SoA Sharing Selected Items – a study for the production of a glossary; printed a series of 15 City Light Posters with the title SoA declinations and clusters; and edited a two channel video of text excerpts under the title SoA Personal Statements.

The project took place between July and December 2022 and was supported by the Akademie der Künste Berlin, with funding from the Federal Goverment Commissioner for Culture and the Media as part of the NEUSTART KULTUR programme.

It was presented in March 2023 at the Contemporary Art Ruhr (C.A.R.), Hall of Collaborations, Halle 6, Zollverein Essen.

With the involvement of Tatiana Efrussi, Rosa Jijon, Adriana Monti, Ursula Rogg, Ana Sladojevic, Roshanak Zangeneh, Joanna Zylinska.
